The Key to Cheap Travel

If you have unlimited money, the cost of traveling is not an issue. But even if you have sufficient money to go in style, there is one big reason to seek out cheap travel opportunities: You get to travel more when you spend less. Let’s face it, if it is nice to fly down to Cancun each year, it may be even nicer to do it twice every year without spending any more than before. So what’s the key to cheap travel? It is to be a travel opportunist. Stop getting fixated on exactly what you want to do and exactly where you want to go. In reality, we aren’t very good at predicting what we will enjoy the most in any case. So go where it is cheap! Now, I’m not saying that you should go anywhere that you can get a cheap plane ticket (although that might be an adventure worth trying). But if you start with a list of potential destinations that you think you might enjoy, you can just watch for the deals and choose the place on your list that is cheapest to travel to. Chances are another one on the list will be the cheapest the next time. One by one you’ll visit many of the places you want to go to, but you’ll do it when they are a great deal.Look for the hotels that are cheaper too, and eat lunch while snacking for dinner. Do those activities that cost less first, and only if you’re not having enough fun should you then opt for the more expensive activities. The point is that you can essentially do everything you want to do and go where you want to go – and do it all for less – if you are flexible on when and how. Following simple opportunistic strategies like these, you can often travel for half the cost that other do.
