Gap Year Thailand
In this article we will cover some of the must see sights on your Gap Year Thailand, you have probably heard of some of them, as theses activities have gained some notoriety over the years for really cool stuff to see and do, others you may not have heard of at all.
One opportunity not to be missed on your Gap Year Thailand is the full moon party on Koh Phanang, this is regarded as one of the greatest parties on earth. Every month right on full moon, up to 12,000 people converge on a tiny fishing village on the Island of Koh Phanang. As the sun goes down the party hots up with loud dance music of every variety, and bars and beach bars dishing out buckets of Thai Whiskey and coke like it is going out of fashion. The result is the inevitable, hang over the next day, but what a night you have in the process.
Arriving on your Thailand Gap Year is easy, with the new and impressive Sukhumvit airport providing easy access to the city, you will find yourself in down town Bangkok with relatively little hassle, except maybe for sitting in some pretty heavy traffic, as Bangkok’s streets are crowded at the best of times. Once you have arrived you probably want to be checking out the sights and sounds available to see. The main attractions in Bangkok are the Wats (temples) grand palace and of course lots and lots of shopping. If you have a few hours to kill, cruising down the river is not a bad option either. If you are looking for a day trip, you can check out the floating market and the tiger temple too.
The Khao San Road is also an important hub on the backpacker scene, as this is essentially the focal point for all backpackers and travellers converging on the city. Many people on their Thailand Gap Year meet people on the Khao San Road who they end up travelling with, and making friends for a long time after. No Khan San Road experience would be complete without going out and hitting some of the bars in the evening, just be careful as a potent mix of Thai whiskey, served in a bucket by a lady boy can be enough to send anyone under.
