There has been a lot of work recently to ensure that the government will not go bankrupt and the debt ceiling has been an issue of constant debate for many people in congress who want to find a way to decrease the amount of debt the government currently carries while still being able to function and provide social programs for citizens around the United States. These congressional arguments regarding the budget have been especially worrisome for the oldest members of society because a lot of the reductions talked about have been regarding social program often utilized by the elderly such as Medicare and Medicaid.
A number of seniors currently face some significant financial problems due to a variety of reasons and health care is one of the biggest concerns for most people over the age of sixty five. For example, there has been a lot of talk about reducing Medicare benefits when many seniors are finding it impossible to pay for any type of extended health care. Although there have been many suggestions by various health care experts that allowing seniors extended payments to put toward Delray Beach home care options would actually be cheaper in the long run than paying for hospital stays, there hasn’t been any movement toward making home care more accessible.
And to make matters worse, seniors have not received any sort of cost of living increase regarding their government subsidies in two straight years even though the prices for many services have increased significantly in a very short amount of time.
