Musical Friends
30 November 2010
When I worked in bars and coffee shops I became friends with a lot of musicians. I was invited to a different show each week, and I would always try to go because I figured it is nice to support friends and coworkers.
One of my close friends, Chris, and I worked together at a coffee shop and we would go on campaigns to get all of the customers to attend the different concerts. His first concert was great, almost every single customer showed up, so he brought over fifty people.
Another friend worked at a cell phone accessory store while recording to pay the bills. She was always trying to push HTC HD7 Accessories for me to purchase. I of course gave in and bought a HTC HD7 Handsfree device, which has worked great because using my speaker phone on my cell phone was getting annoying. She also tried to get me to buy a HTC HD7 Data Cable, but I did not have any need for one at the time. This friend is now finished with her album and is touring the United States, one of her songs even made it onto a trailer for a movie trailer.
I met my other friend at my gym, she was working there to also pay the bills and I went and saw a couple of her performances. She has an amazing voice and sounds like a younger version of Norah Jones. Her CD is doing really well and one of her songs was featured in a popular television show.
It is a wonder to see how far they have come and it is amazing to be able to see the process that they have been through to produce their music.
