Citroen C3 – Perfect For Your Needs

Citroen C3Those looking for a supermini car won’t find anything better than the Citroen C3. This car was first introduced in 2002 and comes with a range on inline four engines for you to choose from. Designed by Jean-Pierre Ploue and Donato Coco, this car has undergone changes over the years including the introduction of the mini MPV version which is known as the C3 Picasso. If you are in the market for a new car, this is one you definitely want to check out.
The first generation Citroen C3 was sold from 2002 until 2009 although the basic design did receive a face lift in 2006.  When first introduced, the car came with five engines to choose from and a five speed manual transmission was standard. You could choose a semi-manual transmission featuring paddle shifters for an additional charge. Another transmission option featured the Stop & Start technology designed to help with fuel economy.  It was designed to cut the engine when sitting in traffic to save on fuel. The engine would then quickly restart when it was time to move again. Only the SX model had the option of a four speed fully automatic transmission. The 2006 face lift made minor changes to the car, but kept the same basic design.
When the second generation Citroen C3 was introduced in 2009, the first thing that people noticed was the 108 degree windscreen which greatly expands the field of vision. The only version which does not feature this windscreen is the base model VT. The curvy profile of previous years remains although the car is both wider and longer. New small petrol engines were introduced with this generation and offer low CO2 emissions as well as good economy and performance. All vehicles will tell you which gear you should be in and when to switch gears for maximum fuel economy.
When looking for a new car, you definitely don’t want to overlook the Citroen C3. With so many things to recommend it, you will be disappointed if you do. Thanks to the wide range of standard features and options, you are sure to find a model that is perfect for your needs.
